About Rafik
Purpose and open source
An institution-led direction for universities, clubs and sports organizations.
Purpose
Rafik helps universities, sports clubs and other sports institutions organize training, attendance and performance workflows for athletes. Each institution can operate its own instance and adapt its identity to local needs. The maintained branch replaces an older gym-focused direction; legacy API identifiers are not user-facing terminology.
Why open source
The approved direction lets institutions inspect, adapt and operate the software without a Rafik software subscription. Code and documentation use Apache-2.0. Third-party media and datasets may carry separate terms.
Ownership
Each institution controls infrastructure, users, data, secrets, files, backups and retention. Institutional approval, training and ongoing operations remain necessary. No clinical care, injury prediction, improved performance, uptime or customer results are claimed. Participation status is not a medical record.
Source and scope
Reviewed against the published Squire 1.0.0-beta.2 release on 22 October 2026. Stable Squire 1.0.0 and broader institution acceptance remain planned.
